Istanbul Private Layover Tour
Make the most of your stopover with a private Istanbul layover tour — a personalized, round-trip experience from the airport designed to fit your schedule and interests. In just a few hours, you’ll explore Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks, including Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar, without the stress of navigating the city alone.
Unlike standard layover tours, this private Istanbul layover tour is tailored exclusively for you and your travel companions. As a result, your licensed English-speaking guide will adjust the itinerary based on your available time and personal preferences. Furthermore, private airport transfers are included both ways, so you can relax and focus entirely on experiencing the city.
In short, if you have a long layover at Istanbul Airport, this is the best way to turn a wait into an unforgettable adventure.

Good to know
- Layover and passport control: you need a layover of at least 10 hours. You'll leave the airport, so bring your passport and check whether your nationality needs a visa or e-Visa for Turkey.
- Walking level: easy to moderate. Your guide picks the sights that fit your layover and you walk between them in the Old City — wear comfortable shoes.
- Mosque dress code: shoulders and knees must be covered, and women also cover their hair — bring your own scarf if you can (covers are available at the entrance, some mosques charge 2–3 USD). Shoes come off inside mosques.
- Prayer times: mosques close to visitors for a short time during each prayer, and for longer at Friday noon prayer — your guide plans the route around them.
- Entrance tickets: museum entrances are optional and paid at the site, by card or cash.
- Photos: welcome everywhere on the tour; inside mosques please be discreet and don't photograph people praying.

- Emily RAugust 2026· on TripadvisorPerfect day with Reminder Tour!
Zeynel from Reminder Tour was our host for our long layover and first time in Istanbul. We had an amazing day with him! We saw everything we hoped to see, had time for some shopping and a lovely tea/ coffee chat with a local. Zeynel was knowledgeable, engaging and so helpful! Everything was smooth and we felt so cared for from the time of booking. They even included airport transport even though we arrived and left on different days. Thank you Reminder Tour and Zeynel for a perfect day!

We booked and got lucky enough to have Öykü as our guide. We were only in Turkey for a few days and so booked a 6 hour customized Istanbul tour. Öykü is very knowledgeable and was able to give us a lot of context and history on the sites. She also gave fun facts like which movies were filmed at the basicila and hagia Sophia. Knowing that we were jet lagged, she took us for a break at the prettiest little coffee shop too. We learnt so much about istanbul but also felt like we were seeing the city with a friend 🙂 The traffic in istanbul is insane. Luckily the tour included use of the transit system, Öykü accompanied us and it was pretty simple and efficient. We highly recommend reminder tour and ask for Öykü you won’t regret it!!
